Would it be possible to mine altcoins like Bitcoin? How do their procedures, algorithms, and hardware stack up against Bitcoin's Proof-of-Work, and which particular ones employ mining?

Bitcoin mining is highly complex, needing specialized ASIC hardware. However, numerous other cryptocurrencies can be mined using different methods and algorithms.

Many altcoins employ Proof-of-Work with ASIC-resistant hashing algorithms like Scrypt or Ethash, making GPU or CPU mining viable for coins such as Monero (XMR), Ravencoin (RVN), and Ethereum Classic (ETC), with varying hardware needs and energy consumption.
