Why are Avalanche Card refunds taking so long?

I've noticed some delayed refunds and connection issues with the Avalanche Card lately, and the support seems quite hit-or-miss. Does this indicate a deeper reliability problem with the card itself? Has anyone else dealt with missing assets or long delays? Were those issues actually resolved, or is this simply how it works now?
