For a few trips a year, the United Explorer ($150 fee) is a gamble. You'd need to check four bags just to break even. The Chase Sapphire Preferred card ($95) is a good choice. It offers 3x points on dining, 2x on travel, and allows point transfers to United.

To justify the annual fee for a United card, you typically need to fly three times a year with a checked bag to save enough on baggage costs.

Isn't starting a small investment account better than just having a bank account? It could boost confidence and teach them about compounding earlier.

@Sam In the U.S., cash back from debit transactions is usually included in the total charge, which is very frustrating. The fastest way to clear it up is to check your bank app for a "merchant note" or digital receipt. If that doesn't work, a quick chat with your bank's support can confirm the breakdown instantly. You could also swing by the store and ask them to reprint your receipt.

Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Capital One — these major U.S. banks don't have a specific "Digital Receipt" button for every debit purchase, but they do have tools to help you find that missing cash back information.

If the app can't provide an answer, a quick chat with your bank's customer support can usually clarify things right away. You can always visit the store for a reprint of your original receipt, which will show the cash back as a separate transaction.

Yes, a European debit card works in the USA  for purchases and ATM withdrawals, but all the transactions will be in dollars only. Your bank will do the conversions. There are foreign transaction fees (typically 1-3%) and potentially ATM fees.

It is possible that your bank have put temporary security measures in place to verify your online activity. Contact Bank of America's customer service about any restrictions on your account. They can assist you with your problems and solve them.

To lower the fraud risks, Citibank might be modifying its rules like regulatory changes, fraud prevention strategies, risk assessment. Sometimes banks can change the card limits. So it's better to have a word with Citibank officials and ask for the particular cause of these modifications and investigate whether any possibilities exist to revert your former restrictions.

There is no need to deposit the money. Card delivery can take up to 7-10 business days, so it may be your card is in transit. Just wait for some more days. If it doesn't arrive soon, reach out to Truist's customer service.

Walmart Money Cards are safe. I have used a Walmart Money card for at least 15 years and I never had a problem. At Walmart, it costs $3 per month and $3 each load. The FDIC covers Walmart Money cards up to the maximum amount for money held by Green Dot Bank. I can see my transactions and check my balance by simply logging into my WalmartMoneyCard.

Wells Fargo charges 3% foreign transaction fees. Moreover, $5 is charged for ATM withdrawals made outside of the US.

Yes it's possible to link your Apple pay to your Chase Bank US debit card. Just open your Apple pay app n simply add a new card and follow the instructions to validate your card details. Once everything is done, you can simply use your mobile for purchasing.
