My elder brother gifted me a car and also paid for the insurance for 6 months. The policy ended today. So I want to know if I am unable to pay for the insurance today, can I pay tomorrow and renew it back? The late fee is fine with me. If not, will they cancel my policy and require me to purchase a new one?

If you can’t pay the car insurance today, then ask about the grace period for late payments. Some companies allow grace periods for late payments. This facility varies among the insurance companies.
If you have time to pay for the insurance, pay immediately. There can be a late fee, but there shouldn’t be a coverage delay if you renew.
If the grace period is gone, then your policy might be cancelled, and you need to buy a new policy. Contact your insurance company as soon as possible.
