Why do QR code e-wallet payments seem so uncommon in the U.S.? Since I already use credit cards without extra fees, is there even a real benefit for me to switch when Apple Pay and Google Pay work just like tap-to-pay cards?

QR codes haven't really caught on in the U.S. yet, mostly because we're all about the quickness of credit cards and that handy "tap-to-pay" option. Scanning a code just feels like an extra hassle when you can just tap. But there's a bright side. QR wallets can give you better security and some cool rewards that regular cards might not offer. If you're into privacy and unique discounts, it might be worth a shot.

@Mark Since tap-to-pay is so easy in the U.S., what would it actually take for me to switch to QR wallets? Would it be better rewards, more privacy, or lower merchant fees? Or does scanning just need to feel as effortless as tapping before people like me will finally make the jump?

@David-Brown For most of us, switching from tap-to-pay requires more than just a new gadget. Unless QR codes offer better rewards, real privacy, or visible discounts — and feel just as fast as tapping — they probably won't become our go-to way to pay.
